Pope Francis Says he would Baptize Aliens

Pope Francis Space Pope

Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, answered an odd question yesterday during a homily about accepting all people into the church and into Gods kingdom.

He apparently thinks that aliens would be God's children just as much as we are. And, that if they wanted to be baptized than he would allow it.

While this wasn't an outright reply of Yes! We should baptize all aliens! It did fall inline with the way this Brazilian Pope operates. He is often the voice of reason, hope and humility in the Catholic Church these days. Always pushing for more philanthropy and more understanding in the world.

"If, for example, tomorrow an expedition of Martians came to us here and one said 'I want to be baptised!', what would happen?"
To which Pope Francis replied:
"Martians, right? Green, with long noses and big ears, like in children's drawings."
"When the Lord shows us the way, who are we to say, 'No, Lord, it is not prudent! No, let's do it this way'. Who are we to close doors?"

Describing how, according to the Bible, Peter was criticised by the Christians of Jerusalem for making contact with a community of "unclean" pagans, Pope Francis said that at the time that too was "unthinkable".

This isn't the first time that extraterrestrials have come up in the Church either. The head of the Vatican Observatory Father Jose Gabriel Funes has come out publicly earlier and stated that he thinks there is a good chance they exist and that they would be in keeping with the faith. Explaining the idea of redemption for the aliens, he referred to the Gospel parable of the lost sheep stating: "Aliens could already be redeemed because they could have remained in full friendship with God."
